Like all vacations, our honeymoon came and went in a blink of an eye. It was the first time we had traveled abroad that wasn’t just going to my hometown for Christmas since I came to Japan 3.5 years ago. Before moving here my wife and I use to travel all the time together, so it was a bit of a shock to the system not traveling for so long due to it taking me so long to find solid work. (Thanks Lightcafe!)
Anyway, the honeymoon in Hawaii was a blast and very refreshing. Not only did we have our wedding ceremony there with family and friends, but it was a return to some old feelings of traveling together to a place neither of us had ever been and sharing the experience and adventure together. Exotic locations, the one you love, and the adventure of new experiences. That’s as good as it gets! I had forgotten how nice it is to get away from your daily routine for a while and wake up knowing that your day’s agenda is full of things you “want to do” and not “have to do. “
Of course all good things must come to an end. If every day was like that, it would just become the norm and the desire to do something else possibly somewhere else would set in. It was nice while we were there, and we left before it lost it’s fun. Now we are back home and back at work, but for the rest of our lives we will remember those warm sunny days on the island of Oahu where in front of family and friends we finalized our marriage.
